We’ve committed to the following goals in our Commitment to Dismantling Systemic Inequality in Recruiting:
- Provide a visible, quarterly report on our growth and understandings, as well as our diversity recruitment efforts on our website.
- Create awareness and educate our partners, clients, candidates and community on diversity recruitment best practices.
- Share talent pool demographics with hiring teams pre- and post-engagement.
As promised, we are sharing an update on how we are continuing our growth and understandings as individuals, a team, an organization, a service provider and as a member of the community. Q1 continued to enhance the opportunity for our team to dive deeper, learn more, ask tough questions and ultimately, continue to lean in.
Between January and March, our conversations have continued to focus on ways we – both as a team and as individuals – can be more inclusive and equitable in our everyday work.
In February, we again worked with Jessica Hickey of 1029 Consulting to facilitate a company-wide conversation on best practices surrounding diversity conversations with clients. This included role playing to help us practice these conversations. These role playing exercises helped our team hone our discussion facilitation skills and better understand client goals to include underrepresented minorities and groups in their hiring pools.
In March, we dove deeper into a tool we’ve been using called Circa, which gives us access to over 20,000 diverse organizations and their associated job boards. Our training included new ways to conduct outreach. Circa allows us to connect with and distribute client job postings to these organizations with a goal of building more diverse and inclusive talent pools.
We’ve also added new members to our Another Source team over the past few months, and have been making diversity a focus of our new hire training and onboarding. All new hires are provided with the tools, documents and videos that we have used as a team over the past year, and are encouraged to add their own thoughts, reactions and experiences to our twice-weekly all-team meetings.
When it comes to educating – and learning from – our partners and communities on diversity recruitment best practices, we have shared many articles that we’ve found helpful and that have driven thoughtful discussion:
