As an agency, we ultimately want to eliminate sexual assault, and to ensure the freedom to live without fear. It is a rewarding experience to bring individuals from the pain into the healing.

King County Sexual Assault Resource Center (KCSARC) is committed to the elimination of sexual assault. This mission has driven the work of the agency since its founding in 1976. KCSARC has grown to be the largest sexual assault victim's service organization in Washington. Responsible for creating nationally-recognized prevention education and therapeutic programs, KCSARC's work has been replicated around the country.

In 2002, KCSARC was named by Washington CEO magazine as the "Best Place to Work" in the non-profit category. We were also given the "Business Excellence Award" by the Renton Chamber of Commerce & the "Business Innovation Award" by the Kent Chamber of Commerce. Lindsay Palmer, KCSARC's Director of Education, was named "2002 Citizen of the Year" by the Municipal League of King County.
